Merge Conveyor

The merge conveyor comprises twelve belts, each 80 mm wide but of differing lengths arranged to provide a live surface from square end in feed position to a stepped discharge position set at 45°.

Each belt has a ribbed surface and is tracked by crowned head and tail pulleys. The conveyor belting is flame retardant in accordance with ISO340. At the tail all belts pass around a common crowned drive drum which is driven by a shaft mounted GMU complete with torque arm fixings located on the long side of the conveyor.
At the discharge each belt passes around an individual roller which rotates on a fixed shaft with internal bearings. A plastic infill strip is provided to give minimum gaps around the discharge rollers and is site trimmed to length so providing a good fit to adjacent equipment.

Individual belt tension is achieved by factory clipping each belt to a specific calculated length which, when fitted, provides the ideal tension thus removing the need for complex individual tensioning arrangements.

Guards are provided for the conveyor undersides and around the drive drum while extended side plates are provided 400 mm high above belt level. The whole conveyor is mounted on adjustable legs giving a maximum of one metre ground clearance to the belt.

Quick belt changes are realised by 'slipping' the damaged/broken belt off its pulleys and through an access plate located in the short side of the conveyor. The replacement belt is fed through the access plate and located on the relevant pulleys.
