Commercial Engineer required to provide support to the Project & Commercial team through the accurate recording, controlling and reporting of project costs on excel & access based systems.

Responsibilities will include working with all departments to ensure accurate costings, budgeting, forecasting and project cost reporting, including providing assistance in the preparation of new proposals.

The successful candidate must be proficient in excel and word, possess good communication skills and ideally have a knowledge of access and project based systems.

Typical duties may include:

• Preparing detailed cost plans, activity schedules, cash flow forecasts and producing monthly post contract cost valuations.
• Performing cost control by accurate logging and monitoring of contract cost variances and change control processes, gathering information from various sources and keeping up to date records.
• Monitoring suppliers & sub-contractor's variations.
• Ensuring that project final accounts are updated.
• Collation of project and site department timesheets.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender and contract documents.

Design Draughtsman / CAD Engineer

Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of the materials handling industry or similar would be an advantage but not essential.

Duties will include preparation of conceptual design and system layout drawings and then expanding them into detailed plans and drawings, experience in the use of AutoCAD, preferably 2000LT is therefore essential.

You must be a competent design draughtsman / engineer, mechanically biased preferably with a minimum of a ONC / HNC in mechanical engineering and ideally time served.

Qualifications: ONC / HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Skills: IT literate using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.

Contract Draughtsmen
Following major project awards that has secured substantial work for the next two years, we have opportunities for the following staff to supplement our existing work force:

Robson currently require contract design draughtsmen, candidates must have extensive experience of AutoCAD LT 2000 and have working knowledge of the materials handling industry, i.e conveyors / steelwork / material handling equipment.

Duties will include preparation of conceptual design and system layout drawings and then expanding them into detailed plans and drawings.

The contract is immediate start with terms of 6 to 18 months
