Trainee Fitter

Job Title: Trainee Fitter

Reporting to: Works Manager

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the shopfloor in assembling equipment whilst learning the required skills, safety procedures and industry standards. The role is designed to provide hand-on training and development with a focus on technical competence and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow instructions and support Tradesman/Chargehands in day-to-day tasks.

• Learn to assess work risks under supervision and contribute to a safe working environment.

• Liaise effectively with line manager and team members.

• Support the completion of documentation under guidance.

• Adhere to relevant safety and industry regulations.

• Take responsibility for the care and use of issued PPE.

• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment and make appropriate use of PPE at all times

• Follow guidance and feedback from experienced staff to improve skills and knowledge.

• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.

• Develop an understanding of safe working practices and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by Line Manager or team member.

Context of the Role

Working with the Factory Manager, Chargehands and Tradesman on the factory.
