At Robson Handling Technology, we design, develop and install aesthetically pleasing airport check-in conveyors that accurately weigh, label and despatch baggage items, that can be configured in to one, two, or three stage check-in arrangements.

The check-in process

With a requirement for passengers’ bags to be weighed, labelled, and despatched, typically the weighing and labelling operations are carried out on a single conveyor, with bags despatched onto the collector from the second. Separate conveyors are then used for the weighing, labelling and despatch of the bags for maximum flexibility.

For ease of maintenance the weigh conveyor is mounted on castors, which run on a track fixed to the top of the weigh scale to enable swift replacement of the conveyor with standby units whilst the conveyor is easily transported to the maintenance department.

The conveyor is retained in its operating position by location devices and shoot bolts, with access to the shoot bolts, power, and control sockets via a hinged plate mounted on the front of the weigh conveyor.

The Check-In Scale Induct conveyors are suitable to be positioned close to the check-in desk, presenting AISI 304 stainless steel covers with Brush 4 finishing on passenger side.

Twin passenger and operator displays, simultaneously show the bag weight, total weight, and the number of bags.

Maintenance is simplified by a pull-up design along with the use of electrical plugs and sockets, which also eliminates incorrect connections. Every maintenance activity can be easily performed by a single operator.

Flat modular design with choice of belt types and widths. Fully integrated scale and control system.

With the two belts configuration, each stage carries out a particular function:

  • First stage for weighing
  • Second stage for labelling and dispatching on the take-away
